(Bai Ling will be playing May Chu in Escape from Paradise, the movie)
We received a message from MDA, Singapore's Media Development Authority, confirming that Escape from Paradise. has not been banned in Singapore! It was just the strong-arm tactics of Helen Yeo and her husband, Yeo Cheow Tong, that removed Escape from Paradise from Singapore's bookstores (with a little help from Philip Jeyaretnam).

Dear John Harding,
I refer to your query on the book "Escape from Paradise". Publications are
However, here is what the Singapore's National Library says:
U.S. Senate moves against Singapore to protect Escape from Paradise
In response to Helen Yeo's threats over Escape from Paradise, and similar cases, recently the US Senate passed a bill to shield US journalists, authors, and publishers from "libel tourists" who file suit in countries where they expect to get the most favorable ruling. The Senate approved the measure in a "unanimous consent" voice vote.
The popular legislation headed to the House of Representatives, which was expected to approve it and send the measure to US President Barack Obama to sign into law.
Backers of the bill have cited Singapore as the major country where weak libel safeguards attract lawsuits that unfairly harm US journalists, writers and publishers.
The measure would prevent US federal courts from recognizing or enforcing a foreign judgment for defamation that is inconsistent with the first amendment of the US Constitution and would bar foreign parties in such cases from targeting the US assets of an American author, journalist, or publisher as part of any damages.
We are out to spread the truth about Yeo Cheow Tong and his wife, former lawyer Helen Yeo? It is more than that. We are here to set the record straight.
There are no "sensitive" materials published in the book.
We believe that Helen Yeo was so afraid of what we did not publish in our book that she did what she could to keep Escape from Paradise out of Singapore - dud she took a bribe?Helen Yeo used her friends, including and her husband, former Singapore Cabinet Minister Yeo Cheow Tong, and Philip Jeyaretnam to censor Escape from Paradise.
This was a mistake on the part of Helen Yeo, as we have published on the Internet what we did not publish in Escape from Paradise--as our book is NOT about Helen Yeo.
Helen Yeo was mentioned only in passing in Escape from Paradise as a lawyer involved with the sale of the author's family home. Apparently Helen Yeo had reason to be afraid of the attention.
There were illegalities in the sale of the house to defraud a beneficiary which we did not know about when we wrote Escape from Paradise and which are not in the book. Click to for the incriminating documents.
We cannot understand Singapore does not charge Helen Yeo with a crime for this.
Given Helen Yeo's connections in Burma, Afghanistan, and Morocco, her husband's connections with James Raidy, convicted in the U.S., and the Jeyaretnam's connection to convicted terrorist Baldev Naidu we cannot understand why Singapore lets these people go unpunished.
Thanks to Yeo Cheow Tong, the only place where Escape from Paradise is available in Singapore is at the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library and at NUS.
Prior to Helen Yeo's intervention the NLB carried 25 copies of Escape from Paradise, which were always checked out, and with a wait list to boot!
First, we helped get Yeo Cheow Tong fired from his position as Cabinet Minister. He has been fired from his party and ordered not to run for parliament. His wife, Helen Yeo is no longer managing partner of law firm Rodyk & Davidson.
The Singapore government gave Yeo enough time to save face (sort of), but now he is toast.
Helen's connection to the Jeyaretnam brothers and the terrorists?
Yeo Cheow Tong's new jobs!
We report, you decide on this one. Juliana Tan is the sister of notorious Singapore lawyer, Helen Yeo, the wife of Yeo Cheow Tong.
Juliana Tan shared a business in Myanmar (Burma) with her then boyfriend, Dan de Mirmont.
Dan de Mirmont is quoted by a major French news source, Le Point, as admitting to being a former Israeli mercenary, and was dealing in arms to Burma.
Yeo's wife's, Helen Yeo' sister, Juliana Tan, still has her store (which she started with long-time boyfriend, Dan de Mirmont) in narco-state Myanmar. This is the same store which Helen Yeo used as a front and tried to pass off as a branch of her law firm.
Now, Juliana's Dan de Mirmont, Phone: +93(0)799 598 852, has opened a restaurant, Le Bistro, in Kabul, Afghanistan (another narco-state) and is importing "safron" into Morocco.
Now that Dan is gone, Juliana has married U Kyaw Win of Myanmar. U Kyaw Win is the name of one of the leading industrialists and bankers in Burma with close connections to drug lord, Khun Sa - whose son, Steven Law is married to a Singaporean, and who has numerous companies in Singapore (and is wanted by the USA).
What are Yeo Cheo Tong and Helen Yeo doing, with all the narco-state, and Riady - Lippo connections?
Hey, Singapore! Don't you think you should investigate - or are you part of the problem? Laundering too much drug money?
Now, Yeo Cheow Tong is a member of the investment team of Tembusu Partners.
Yeo is the guy who lost so much money with bad investments, that he was given his retirement pay in a lump sum in order to pay off his debts to bankers and not embarrass Singapore government.
Yeo's wife, Helen Yeo, is Tembusu's corporate Secretary - how about that?
The Trembusa fund has been awarded Pioneer Status with zero-rated tax incentive for both the fund and the fund management company. The fund has also qualified under the Global Investor Programme by EDB, where foreign investors with S$1.5 million investment into the fund may apply for Permanent Resident Status in Singapore.
Pay up your S$1.5 million and you will be a Permanent Resident of Singapore, ready to wheel and deal with on of those famous Singapre two dollar corporations. Helen Yeo (the babe to the left) can set you up with your permanent residency and a $2 corporation (for a fee).
Greedy Minister Lim Hwee Hua who was the 21st highest paid government official in the world! Lim Hwee Hua's government salary is S$2.2 ($1,566,444 in US dollars). Lim Hwee Hua makes nearly four times as much as President Obama, but this is not enough for the crooked lady.
She has set up her husband, Andy, to run a scam investment company, where, as an investor, you can get residence in Singapore. Lim Hwee Hua has been listed for some time on our page on Minister's Salaries.
So why did Lim Hwee Hua bring Helen and Yeo Cheow Tong into Tembuso? Maybe she wanted to get into some of the Yeo's narco-state activity with Burma, Afghanistan, Morocco and their good friend, Israeli arms dealer Dan de Mirmont.
Thanks to Lim Hwee Hua's influence, more crooks and arms traffickers, like Singapore Permanent Resident Brian Woodford (left), will have the possibility of entering Singapore. Woodford's wife, Laura Wang-Woodford is already in the slammer (prison) in New York, where she belongs - yes, she too is a Singapore Permanent Resident.
(Thanks to one of our readers for leading us to this information)
Yeo Cheow Tong now is Chairman, Board of Governors, Raffles University Systems, aka (also known as) Boustead College, aka Chewhuaseng-foundation.org, aka about 11 other strange names...The elegantly dressed Mr Chew Hua Seng with his aqua-looking boy friend date Yeo Cheow Tong.
Chew is Chairman & CEO of Raffles Education Corporation Limited - former consulting Professor of Garment College of Donghua University, PRC in January 2000. Mr. Seng only has a Bachelor's Degree (in sewing garments?)
Yeo is no more qualified than the Chairman as he too did not make it beyond the Bachelor Degree level, either - some university!
We checked the U.S. Department of Education and Raffles University is not accredited in the U.S.
Raffles University, on its web page, claims, "Progression links with overseas universities in UK, US, China and Australia." What are progression links? - sounds like a scam to us.
Job #4 (Lippo)
Yeo Cheow Tong also works for Lippo Ltd as an associate director for a reported S$22,000 per month, plus his relative's narco connections (Helen Yeo's sister) are expanding...
Lippo is owned by the Riadys headed by James Riady (crooks in the USA). As a glorified office-boy, Yeo attends to matters that require approval from governmental departments, and getting the Riady's children into the right schools, like Raffles University.
On January 11, 2001, James Riady was sentenced by the US Dept. of Justice to pay a record $8.6 million in criminal fines and plead guilty to a felony charge of conspiring to defraud the United States. He was also ordered to perform 400 hours of community service.
Hey, Yeo -- we are out to get you fired again.
Job #5 (KillyInvest)
Yeo Cheow Tong has started a new company, KillyInvest Private Limited, an investment holding company with an issued share capital of the princely sum of S$100. He owns a stake of 99 per cent (S$99). His wife, Helen Yeo, is KillyInvest’s secretary with the remaining one share worth S$1. Their home in Maryland Drive is the company’s registered address. KillyInvest is going into the Avian Flu business. http://www.killyinvest.com is "under construction." The site is registered under the name of Helen Yeo using the email address of ([email protected]). Click and send Helen an email!
Open Letter to PM Lee (Excerpt from SG Review)
Former Transport Minister Yeo Cheow Tong:
What Singaporeans Say (Internet):
When the "Escape from Paradise" website first appeared years ago, PM Lee should have shown him "the back door" right there and then. Neither did this happened when "yeocheowtong.com" next appeared.
As a result, while still holding on to his Minister's post, he was an "embarassing liability" not just to the PAP but also to Singapore [the nation] and Singaporeans [the people].
After "stepping down from the Cabinet" [face-saving words], he was not assigned a high-paying job at a GLC [for obvious reasons] but is now said to be with the LIPPO Group (headed by a Chinese Indonesian) and drawing a salary of around $18,000 per month [ which is really "peanuts" compared to his last-drawn $100,000 monthly Minister's Pay].
From another website
In June 2006, Yeo resigned from the Singapore cabinet as Minister of Transport, and returned to the private sector. The official version of the story is that he had informed Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong before the 2006 general election of his intention to step down as part of the renewal process of the Singapore cabinet, but was persuaded to continue to lead his Hong Kah GRC team in the forthcoming general election. The unofficial version, however, claims that Yeo's wife had gotten into financial trouble with property speculation, leading him almost to the brink of bankruptcy. The latter version also claimed that the People's Action Party, in order to avoid the scandal from tarnishing its image, had helped Yeo repay all outstanding bank loans and in return, he would be asked to step down.
From Delphi Forums
1) Actually Yeo Cheow Tong had heavily invested in lot's of properties. He had thought of buying them and renting them out or selling them when the prices are good. Unfortunately pricing went on a down-turn thanks to his buddies Mah Bow Tan and Lim Hng Khiang for building 38,000 excessive HDB flats and driving HDB pricing to all time lows. You know a better fact, it was not he who invested but his wife...Helen Yeo but signed by him. Way to go Bitch!
2) The Banks had been banging him for a long time but even with his million dollar salary, he can't seem to service the loans. The banks had been told from PMO not to pull the plug. Yeo Cheow Tong is on a brink of Bankruptcy and should have been bankrupted 1 year back and definitely before the elections.
3) PAP knowing that a Bankrupt Scandal will cause chaos and tarnish the PAP branding & party integrity had decided to issue Yeo Cheow Tong a one time payment to help pay all outstanding to the banks. It is in the range of tens of millions and in return, he would be asked to step down.
Singapore spies. Her narco world sister, Juliana is a covert spy Click?
Helen Yeo used Juliana's dress store as a fake office address for her law firm - and for covert activities? Read about Juliana and the covert activities in Cambodia, and the missing US$350,000, and Rodyk's involvement!!!
From Delphiforums: Is it true about Helen's sister, and the missing US$350,000 from the covert intelligence post in Cambodia?

Singapore schools not good enough for Lee Kuan Yew. He sends grandchild to the Singapore American School (which was not permitted for other Singaporeans.
Singapore teachers being replaced by FTs who are being given free loans, and high pay incentives.
Voice of America criticises Singapore for forcing foreign publications to deposit US$126,000 and appoint a legal representative so Singapore can sue them easily.
"The threat of civil libel or slander suits, which government leaders have often used against political opponents and critics and consistently won, had a stifling effect on the full expression of political opinion and disadvantaged the political opposition. Large judgments in libel suits can lead to bankruptcy, and, under the law, bankrupt persons are ineligible to sit in Parliament."

Singapore's Govt. desperate -- out to win election through defamation lawsuits.
"We have to act because they are alleging corruption. If we do not act, and the lies and defamation are repeated throughout and in election rallies and spread around, I think the government's reputation goes down.'' Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew
